We are here to help

Introduction

Twenty2 is located on the ancient Roman Walls overlooking the River Dee in the heart of the City of Chester, Cheshire within the curtilage of Edgar House

Parts of Edgar House date back to the late 1700s, and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests, there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility, notably (but not limited to) some narrow doorways, 3 external steps from the car park to the first floor main entrance and the internal spiral staircase with 17 steps
Each step is approximately 200 mm (8 ins) high

We look forward to welcoming you to Twenty2
If you have any queries or require any assistance please phone 01244 347 007 or contact us by email here

Arrival and parking

Regrettably, like most restaurants in Chester, Twenty2 has no parking facilities of its own

However, there are parking spaces in the Edgar House Car Park, which aren't always in use
It is not possible to reserve these spaces in advance, however on the day of your Twenty2 table reservation, please feel free to contact us to see if there might be a space available

Access to the Edgar House Car Park is gained from Duke Street (off Lower Bridge Street) initially turning right onto a tarmaced driveway and followed by a gravel car park
The tarmaced driveway is not our own and is somewhat uneven

There is low level lighting around the car park which is lit during the hours of darkness

Use CH1 1RL for SatNav (Our own postcode [CH1 1SB] does not exist in SatNav)

Other than the possible use of the Edgar House Car Park, there is local street parking (restricted unless you're a resident)
Please double-check before leaving your parked vehicle, that you are not in contravention of any parking restrictions

There is also an NCP multi-storey car park on Pepper Street, and a Pay and Display surface Car Park at Little Roodee
Both of these are approximately five minutes walk away

Being welcomed from the Edgar House Car Park

There are 3 steps up from the gravelled car park to a flat graveled landing area and then approximately 3 metres (10 feet) to the main entrance door which is 900 mm (35½ ins) wide
Each step is approximately 200mm (8 ins) high with railings left and right for assistance
This gives access to the first floor where the flooring is a mixture of hard-flooring and carpeted areas
Seating is available with 2 upright chairs
The area is well lit with overhead lighting and table lamps
We can be at hand to give assistance

Internal access from the first floor to the ground floor restaurant and gardens is via the spiral staircase which is 850mm (33½ ins) wide with 17 steps
Each step is approximately 200mm (8 ins) high

The total of 10 steps is split into 2x 5 step flights
A hand-rail exists on the first flight of 5 steps but not on the second flight of 5 steps
We can be at hand to give assistance

Please advise when booking if you will be bringing an assistance dog
In either event, dogs are very welcome in the garden

Children

Adult visitors are welcome to bring children of any age, under supervision, into the gardens and restaurant
Please note however that we would not consider the garden to be a playground
Please ensure the children you bring onto the premises are under your guidance and supervision at all times

NB - Our garden is atop the ancient City Wall and there are some very steep drops indeed beyond our walls
